How to Create Your Own Superhero

Aug 14, 2009 10:32 PM
Main enemies: corrupt politicians and billionaires.

Have you ever read a comic and wandered how Marvel, DC, or DM creates those amazing and one of a kind superheros? Here is a guide that will help you get started. ( Side Kick not included)

Before ever getting started in the design process, take a look at all of the other superheros around. The most obvious ones would be Superman, Batman, Spiderman, Wolverine, Green Lantern, Flash, Wonderwoman and ect. The not so obvious would be Scorpian, Quicksilver, Antman, Giant Girl (that's original), ect. Take note of the most commonly used ideas of modern superheros. Don't make a superhero like Superboy or the Purple Lantern. Be original.

Think of your superhero's abbilities. This could be anything you want.

Come up with further details. Your characters background, demeanor, physical attributes, personality, ect. These are all very important.

Here comes the big one. Draw your superhero. Your probably over on the other side of the screen with your cute little bunny slippers on, drinking your hot chocolate that you had to put an ice cube in because it was too hot for your little mouth going OMG! I'm terrible at drawing. Fortunately, this drawing that you do is not for anyone else to see but you. Only you. Unless of course you were going to turn this into a comic book. Then you would need to draw your character over and over again until you feel comfortable with how it looks. This is also a good time for costume and accessories brainstorming. Draw you character with as many different costumes as you can think of, then choose one.

Tips

  • Be aware of originallity
  • Come up with an exciting background

Warnings

  • Be aware of the other superheros around. I cannot stress this enough. If you create an amazing Superboy, no one will want to read your material (if making a comic book).

Things You'll Need

  • A very creative and original imagination
